✶ Why a virtual community?
A virtual community transcends distance, culture and hierarchy and so allows the ideal platform for the Body to unite and come fully alive.
There are literally thousands of us whose hearts have been awakened to the point that now traditional-packaged Christianity is not enough. But where are these hungry folk who thirst for more? How can we find each other? How can we find people who operate with a common vision and understand the Message of the Heart?
An online network creates a climate for uniting like-hearts.
If you have been transformed through the Message of the Heart, you are part of an end-time movement. A movement that is bringing free hearts together to take back ground stolen by the Religious Spirit--reclaiming it for the Kingdom of Light. Together we become an unstoppable force. Here in the virtual Land of Iona we overcome the miles of distance, find ministry partners and resources and build relationships necessary for kingdom synergy.

✶ History of Iona
"In 564 Saint Columba left his beloved Ireland in a coracle, sail unfurled, willing to let God lead him wherever he might for the sake of the gospel. With him were 12 disciples, friends, warrior-monks as they would later be called. They landed on a small island off the coast of Scotland (at the time a dark, vicious, pagan country), and there they established what they called a "little heavenly community." The place was Iona, and it became the center of a new and vibrant Christianity . . ..
. . . at the time of Iona, the Christian church based in Rome was already becoming institutionalized, hierarchical, far more an organization than it was an organism. That living and spontaneous association of individuals who know one another intimately and care for one another deeply was giving way to a large, centralized, bureaucratic church where rules and bylaws become necessary. Sad, but true. And so I hope you see that it was a time very much like our own. A world, come to think of it, very much like the one the early church also found itself in. The synagogue was dead, and the cultures around them pagan indeed. What did they do? They came together into little fellowships of the heart.
Iona and it's warrior-monks began to carry their light into that darkness . . . Iona became the staging point for missionary raids into England and deep into Europe. In this way, Irish monasticism and Celtic Christianity began to change the world. Everywhere they went, they established communities like their own, little "fellowships of the heart" along the way. It was the book of Acts all over again. It was a spirituality of the heart; based in a community that knew it was at war, and it was unstoppable . . . We paused by one of the ancient Celtic crosses. God spoke, and this is what He said:
"I am doing this again."

✶ The Land of Iona
The Land of Iona is a collective, redemptive community of like-hearts in allied relationship with The Trinity in the Kingdom of Light. In its broadest sense, Iona is the Body, the true Bride of Christ. When we refer to Iona, we are meaning all who have ever engaged with God to be a part of this mythical Iona --from ages past to ages to come. Kingdoms of all sizes have, do and will exist within Iona. As part of the larger community of believers the people within these kingdoms live life together, fight for each other and are of one heart. Instead of the traditional hierarchies and questing after the approval of man, the Land of Iona will be self-governed and launched upon a belief that our hearts, living under the new covenant, are good.
The Land of Iona is a place where we are invited to join other awakened hearts. We are invited to live The Message of the Heart and walk in the Four Streams. Our purpose is to see the inherent glory within each of us, come fully alive in our unique gifts and callings, and call each other up into the fullness of all that God sees and longs for us to be . . . and in so doing, unite the Body for maximum Kingdom advancement. Together we will draw the world up into the Great Story and into the heart of our King.

We Believe:
Under the new covenent our hearts are good.
Your presence here adds value to the community.
Your creative ideas and your walk with God are welcomed and needed.
✶ The Collective
Coming from a wide variety of interests and vocations we all lend our unique flavor to the Iona collective and value the input of the others. We have no governing body, no hierarchy, just a common vision and the shared belief that our hearts are good and that everyone has an important role to play in the Larger Story.
The dream is that one day the Land of Iona will be hundreds upon hundreds of like hearts each living, loving and working collectively, each walking in their callings and giftings, all advancing the Kingdom through their circles of like hearts networked from across the globe.
Currently, the collective includes, single moms, pastors, graphic designers, nurses, women's ministry workers, retired army corps, musicians-etc. We live in several states across the U.S. and most of us have never met each other. Yet we all share the common vision that in serving each other we become free.
